Our owner and founder, Linda Jones Nadeem, was born and raised in Roxbury on Elmore Street. Her artistry started early due to her mother's influence, the late Doris E. Jones. Doris encouraged the arts throughout Roxbury at the Robert Gould Shaw House and was one of the founders of “Art in The Park,” an annual event held in Harris Horatio Park.
She taught ceramics and crafting, from where Linda got her basic education about crafts.
Linda has always been blessed with creating arts, designing and redesigning. She acquired a wonderful opportunity of working as a Certified Activity Professional. Linda believes that crafting and designing provide very little in the area of resources, so we learn to create something out of what others think of as unusable. I do make my jewelry made-to-order and size bracelets for a good fit. If you see something you like and you want it in another color give me a call or email your specifications.
In 2018, Linda experienced a brain tumor which led to surgery with a 20% success rate. She believes that the incident increased her desire to create art and jewelry. She visualizes and creates pictures of herself, remaking pieces to her liking.
Despite her health deterioration, Linda is ever grateful to God and is helped by her daughter to create unique artworks.
Linda has been introduced to “Switch,” an Artist Co-op that embodies all types of crafted art, and she is willing to assist other artists there to the best of her ability. She believes helping others learn how to create, and design is a unique opportunity and blessing, and Linda looks forward to exhibiting her work there.
